OUR STORY
With follow-up record Life in a Fish Bowl, indierock outfit Forre Sterra doubles down on the elements that made their debut Aliens in a Digital World such a surprising and promising effort.
This time, their sonic palette has widened: the jangly indierock guitars that carried Aliens are now accompanied by keys, strings and even a Gregorian Choir. The 11 songs that make up Fish Bowl contain dreamy indie-folk, grungy guitars and singer-songwriter textures that are combined and mixed to taste, sometimes even within one song. But underneath all that, the key vision remains clear: writing affectionate, Beatlesque melodies and compelling narratives about the lost and lonely.
Members Lennert & Milan Klaui and Mike Huijbregts met in elementary school. There they started experimenting with writing and recording songs, which laid the foundation for what the band stands for today.
In spring 2020, they released their debut album Aliens in a Digital World, a somber yet adventurous indierock album which garnered them a small but loyal following. Looking to add a more upbeat and positive side to their sound, the band dropped the single For You in 2021. It marked a new direction for the band, one they continued on their much awaited sophomore album Life in a Fish Bowl, which arrived February 2022.
